Idle Words give us a nice collection of vintage Polish Propoganda Posters (actually calendars). Nice stuff.

This is why I want the powers of flight.

FLY GUY is a wonderfully enchanting Flash app. You’re this unassuming little pudgy salaryman who flys through a very nicely done pixelated, Hypercard-like line art fantasyland. Sailing through the sky, space and getting to a tropical paradise. My favorite part was rocking with the UFO. Highly cool, highly entertaining. link via Boing Boing.

More Free Photo Sites.

I generally have a couple of go-to free photo sites . (MorgueFile, interia, istockphoto, image-cafe.net (new), NOAA,Intuitivmedia.net, and image*after)

Via Noel Jackson, I ran across MorgueFile, a Public Image Reference Archive. Looks intruiging.

I also found out about image-cafe.net (new), NOAA. Nice collections of some nice photos. NOAA has some very nice historic drawings as well. LOTS of photos. And the price is right.

This robot has powerful Kung-Fu

China builds robot that can play tai chi. That’s cool. Robo-kung-fu. I want one. I want to see one. And it can sense changing ground levels and balance itself, which is cool. And since Tai chi is about slow movement, moving balance, this would be most excellent to see. I’m guessing super-graceful in motion. (in a robotic sense)

Hugh MacLeod draws cartoons on the back of business cards. Some fantastic stuff. A real attention getter. It’s a nice thing, being able to hand out a business card that’s a piece of art.

Make your own bookmarklet

Posted in CSS on December 30th, 2002 by Tony – Be the first to comment

CSS bookmarklet maker by Phalen (via Webgraphics) is a handly little program. It just makes a link with the required javascript to reference a local file that you create that will temporarily overwrite the page’s style with the CSS that you specify. I know have a bookmarklet that shows me divs and tables, all in one. I also color code nested div’s differently. It’s fun, and cool. Worth checking out.

An evil rumour…

The Register is reporting that Microsoft is plotting a Macromedia acquisition.

Let’s think about this for a second. Microsoft gets Flash, Dreamweaver, Cold Fusion, JRun, Fireworks, Freehand and others.

Mmmm… The only good thing I can say is that if this happens, FrontPage might finally die the death it deserves. Yup. That’s it. The only positive.
